Optimize Biogas Production and Digestion Efficiency

Bac-Zyme® AN features a highly concentrated blend of specialized enzyme complexes designed to optimize anaerobic digestion processes. These enzymes effectively break down organic substrates, converting them into water-soluble nutrients essential for the microflora in biogas reactors.

During the initial stage of biogas production, known as hydrolysis, Bac-Zyme® AN enzymes catalyze the transformation of various substrate components such as cellulose, hemicellulose, pectins, starch, proteins, and lipids. These are converted into simpler compounds like sugars, amino acids, and fatty acids, which can permeate cell membranes. This enzymatic breakdown is crucial as it prepares the substrate for subsequent stages of biogas generation by facilitating microbial activity.

  • Increases biogas. yields by up to 30%
  • Improves energy efficiency, resulting in reduced water consumption.
  • Enhances the capacity of digester systems.
  • Facilitates the degradation of specific organic compounds
  • Enables digesters to handle shock influents more effectively.
  • Enhances the stability and reliability of biogas production.

Customs formulation is available upon request.

Application rate:

Bac-Zyme® AN at 2 ppm treats 1,000 mg/l of COD, multiply by flow rate per day.

Example of flow rate 500 cum3 per day.

-COD 1,000 mg/l : 2 ppm x 500 cum3 flow rate/day = 1 kg per day.

-COD 2,000 mg/l : 4 ppm x 500 cum3 flow rate/day = 2 kg per day.

-COD 3,000 mg/l : 6 ppm x 500 cum3 flow rate/day = 3 kg per day.

These normal preventative maintenance rates are based upon:

  • Optimum pH range of 6.5 to 7.5
  • Negative effects on biological growth rates are possible in the presence of varying concentrations of heavy metal in the mix liquor solution. i.e. mercury, hexavalent chromium and inorganic cyanide wastes.
